"Melting the Snowman"

It’s 1974 and Caroline Jamieson, a political columnist from the Los Angeles Times, has just been fired. To make matters worst, that evening Caroline must attend the sixtieth birthday of her father, George, a prominent novelist. Throughout the night Caroline is ridiculed by siblings, has strange encounters with party guests, and is constantly prided by her father as she struggles to break the news to him. Will Caroline find the strength to come clean, despite the consequences?

FILMMAKER BIO

A native of California’s San Fernando Valley, Ora Yashar graduated from the University of California Irvine in 2005 where she received her B.A. in Film and Media Studies as well as Psychology. In 2006, Ora attended Chapman University, as a directing emphasis, and in 2009 received her MFA in Film Production. In her last semester at Chapman, Ora was a Knott Scholar and completed a mentorship with director Martha Coolidge (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge/Valley Girl/Real Genius). In addition, Ora has interned at RSA, Scott Free, Samuel Goldwyn Films, and Film Rites. Currently, Ora is working at Raleigh Studios Manhattan Beach and completing her feature screenplay which she plans to direct.
