Our world is in peril. After years of reliance on filthy fossil fuels, there's none left. A scientist, a businessman, and a tycoon hatch a bizarre solution that involves bringing dinosaurs back to life. But their short-sighted scheme doesn't work. Pollution is worse than ever. It's not until a courageous little dinosaur takes a brave stand that the humans see the error of their ways. Will we seek new ways of sustainable living, or will we continue to make self-destructive mistakes? |

| DIRECTOR STATEMENT: FOSSIL FOOLS was born out of a collaboration between five students at Art Center College of Design.(Calvin Prieto, Michael Relth, Max Groff, Jun Kwak, Kenny Ceron) We came together with a shared passion for telling a story on the issue of energy consumption. Channeling our experiences of living in car-crazed Los Angeles, the team set out to write a fun, edgy, and unconventional script for a universal audience. We were captivated by the idea of a dinosaur character taking a stand for a real-world cause. Today's issues of global warming and dwindling fuel supplies have definite undertones of environmental extinction, so it was a natural choice. From here, we applied our various passions for animation and storytelling to produce a five-minute animated film, top-to-bottom. We hope that the end result will enliven people of all ages, and spark discussion on an important topic. Enjoy! |
