![]() Kevin Mapp, Photographer | Kevin has been the campus photographer at Harvey Mudd College for the last 4 years. He made his move to Southern California in 2001 by way of Atlanta, GA. His interest in photography started in high school and later blossomed while studying Mass Media Arts at Clark Atlanta University. After receiving his B.A., he then went on to pursue Advertising Photography at The Creative Circus, an advertising and design school also in Atlanta. Kevin has won many awards for his photography and his work has been seen in publications such as Science Magazine and USA Today. |
![]() Marty Ollstein, Cinematographer
| Currently President of Crystal Image and has played an active leading role in the film industry's transition to digital technology. Inspired by his extensive work with filters as a cinematographer, he invented and developed Crystal Image software, the first digital tool to precisely emulate optical filter effects. A contributing member to the ASC Technology Committee, Ollstein is involved in evaluating new technology, recommending technical standards, and leading the effort to educate cinematographers on the expanding potential of the new digital tools and processes. An accomplished feature director and cinematographer, Ollstein's work ranges from features to commercials, music videos, and documentaries.

![]() Valeri Ross, Actress | A stage (Improv at The Comedy Store & The Ice House, “Letters to Harriet Tubman”), film (Sojourner Truth, Losing Isaiah, Glory Road) and voice actor (South Africa Belongs To Us and Of Light and Darkness), is best known for her work on TV which includes ER, CSI:NY, Cold Case, and Studio 60. Most recently, she played the Stenographer on the “Deposition” episode of THE OFFICE. In 2008, she is featured in “Lakeview Terrace” with Samuel L. Jackson and Tracy Ullman’s “State of the Union”. She is also a member of the Screening Panel for the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival. |
![]() T. Kim-Trang Tran, Associate Professor of Art | Tran, T. Kim-Trang was born in Viet Nam and emigrated to the U.S. in
1975. She received her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts
and has been producing experimental videos since the early 1990's. Her
work has been exhibited internationally in Europe, Asia, and South
America, and nationally at such venues as the Museum of Modern Art, the
Whitney Biennial, and the 46th Robert Flaherty Film Seminar. Her video
project, an eight-tape series investigating blindness and its metaphors
was completed in 2006 and will have a retrospective screening at REDCAT
in March 2008. Tran has been nominated for a CalArts/Alpert Award in
the Arts and was named a 2001 Rockefeller Film/Video/Multimedia Fellow.
The fellowship has enabled her to develop a narrative feature screenplay
titled Call Me Sugar, based on the life of her mother.
Tran also collaborates with Karl Mihail on a project known as Gene Genies Worldwide©™ (genegenies.com). Their conceptual and public artworks on genetic engineering have exhibited at the Ars Electronica Festival in Austria, Exit Art, the Tang Museum at Skidmore College and elsewhere in the U.S. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art and Media Studies at Scripps College. |
