Anthony Stadler
"CASUS"

DIRECTOR STATEMENT:
The idea behind CASUS was to make a short film that truly was short; and would be able to be understood in any country in the world with out subtitles.

It then became the game of not having any visible languages, as I didn’t want anyone watching the film to be able to work out what country or language it’s from. As this film is for everyone, of every nation. This meant having no visible words on screen. It’s only then you realize how much language is around us when you try to remove it.

The film is only 3 minutes long and is filled with twists and suspense, with out the need languages; and simple enough for everyone to enjoy.

Anthony Stadler has gained experience through multiple rolls in the industry. To this end he has worked in TV as a freelance editor for the last six years, and has been a camera man on several documentaries. He most recently moved into post-production special-effects where he worked on ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ‘X-Men 3’ and ‘Sunshine’; using Shake. He also spent most of his early life training as an actor, using his experience to help to teach acting in California before he went to University; and still takes the occasional acting role.

CASUS is his most resent short film, and was filmed on HD and is just hitting the festival circuit.

At present, he is preparing for his next short film 'The Perfect Date', a short comedy. And has just finished writing his feature script The Prince of New Amsterdam, which is a post-modern crime thriller based in New York.
